Is the standard of surgery acceptable?. . .
Yes. Surgeons are all qualified Plastic surgeons with extensive training and experience, working in a JCI accredited hospital, offering the highest level of care and service.
Why should I book through Elegance Abroad?. . .
That’s easy! We’re nurses! We know how to care for you, it’s what we do! We will be there every step of your journey, from the booking process, down to offering guidance and support after your procedure.
Is transport provided?. . .
Yes. Transport will be arranged for you prior to your departure. If your procedure is more than 100,000 BAHT, this will be complimentary to clients staying in Phuket.
Can I bring a support person or family member?. . .
Absolutely!! We are more than happy and even encourage you to bring a support person with you. We are happy to book all flights and accommodation for them.
How do I book?. . .
Easy! Fill out the inquiry form on our website or send us an email. Once we have contacted you and received all your relevant information and photo’s, we will send them through to your surgeon for a surgical recommendation. Once you have received your surgical recommendation and are happy to proceed, dates will be confirmed and you will be provided with a treatment plan.
When do I need to pay?. . .
As soon as your surgeon has confirmed an appointment date for you, you are able to continue making your travel plans. Payments for flights are payable within 7 days of receiving your invoice. Your invoice is to be paid in full 4 weeks prior to your departure date. Elegance Abroad does not accept payment for your surgery. This is to be paid in full at your first appointment with your surgeon.
Am I eligible for a payment plan?. . .
Do I have to book my flights and accommodation through elegance abroad?. . .
No. however it is important to ensure you are staying in approved accommodation after your procedure. All flight confirmations and accommodation must be paid in full 4 weeks prior to departure and sent to Elegance Abroad to secure your surgery dates. Our Travel agent is more than happy to assist you with any questions you have.
What is the difference between an appointment and surgery confirmation?. . .
Your appointment date is the day you meet with your surgeon, discuss your procedure and ask as many questions as you need to before confirming your surgery date. Your surgery confirmation date is the day you are booked into hospital for your procedure.
How long in advance do I need to book?. . .
It is recommended that you allow at least 4 weeks for your surgeon to be available, however depending on the time of year and cancellations, every effort will be made to accommodate your requested dates for surgery.
Are compression garments provided?. . .
Yes. For some procedures such as breast augmentation, garments are provided. If they are not provided, you will be notified and assistance with purchasing will be provided by Elegance Abroad. It is important that if you are required to wear a garment that you adhere to your surgeons recommendations.
Are the surgeons qualified?. . .
Absolutely. Our surgeons in Thailand are all qualified plastic reconstructive surgeons with years of experience. They all have the same level of training as surgeons from all over the world- if not more. For more information on our surgeons, view the link below:
Is foreign currency provided as payment?. . .
Payment methods for surgeons accepted, include cash payment (AUD$). Please not that due to exchange rates, this may fluctuate slightly. Some credit and debit cards however not all debit cards are accepted. If you are using a debit or credit card, you will need to speak to your bank prior to departure as large transactions overseas may be intentionally declined by your bank.
What do I need to bring to hospital?. . .
Once your procedure date has been confirmed, Elegance Abroad will send you a travel guide, including what to pack for hospital. Ideally, light, loose clothes that are easy to get on and off, your passport for ID and admission, any medications that you are taking, both prescribed and natural, toiletries, phone, ipad/computer. Wifi is available.
Are consent forms required?. . .
Clients aged 18-20 are required to have consent forms signed by their parent or legal guardian for all procedures in Thailand.
Do I need a visa?. . .
Clients travelling from Australia do not need a visa if staying in Thailand less than 30 days.
Do I need travel insurance?. . .
Yes. Travel insurance will be provided in your quote along with your flight details and all clients are recommended to purchase this. Travel insurance covers you for cancellations, loss or delays, evacuations, lost baggage and more. Travel insurance will not cover your hospital procedure, you will need to apply for medical tourism insurance.
What is a surgical recommendation?. . .
A surgical recommendation is provided to you by your surgeon after sending through your inquiry form with all relevant health history and recent photo’s of the area you are wanting surgery on. Once you have received this and are happy with the recommendation a date can be set for your surgery.
How long before departure is full payment required?. . .
Invoices are to be paid in full 4 weeks prior to departure to secure your appointment date with your surgeon. Surgeon Fees are payable before surgery and after your consultation in Thailand.
I was breastfeeding or pregnant in the last 6-12 months, can I have surgery?. . .
Clients wanting breast surgery will need to wait at least 12 months following pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Post-operative pain. . .
Post operative pain is common for many procedures, including plastic surgery. Your surgeon will inform you of the pain you should expect and provide you with pain relief to control the pain.
Who determines the price of the procedure?. . .
Elegance abroad is not responsible for any pricing of your procedure. These prices are determined by the surgeon.
Do I need immunisations?. . .
Provided you have completed all childhood immunisations and boosters, immunisations are not required for your trip to Thailand and in some cicumstances, may be contraindicated for surgery. Please speak to your regular GP prior to making any decisions, and notify Elegance Abroad prior to receiving any immunisations.
What if I take regular medications?. . .
It is important to complete all documentation and notify us of any underlying medical conditions, including medication that you take regularly. Some medical conditions and medications, including natural vitamins and supplements can be contraindicated for surgery or contribute to post-operative complications.
What if I’m menstruating on my surgery date?. . .
Every surgeon is different, however if you believe you may be menstruating on your surgery date you will need to inform us as the surgeon may delay or cancel your procedure. It may be a good idea to start documenting your period dates to avoid any unnecessary delays.
Do I have to provide photos prior to surgery?. . .
Yes. For surgeons to be able to provide you with a surgical recommendation, you will need to provide photos. Your photos will not be displayed or provided to any third parties by Elegance Abroad, only to PPSI.
Refunds. . .
Should you decide to not proceed with your surgery, a cancellation fee will apply. Refunds are dependent on many factors including when and why, and your terms of booking with your accommodation and flights. For more information, please contact us.
What support is offered while I’m in Thailand?. . .
If you are travelling as part of a group tour, your nurse will be there for support and guidance and anything you need. She will also be available 24/7 via email/phone if you are travelling solo. There will also be other clients from Elegance Abroad staying at the hotel. The team from PPSI and the hospital will also be available should you need anything during your recovery.
What happens the day of surgery?. . .
The day of surgery you will be picked up from your hotel and taken to the hospital. You will be fasting and should not have had anything to eat or drink for at least 8 hours. You will be admitted and preoperative testing done.
Can I swim after surgery?. . .
Swimming is not recommended after surgery. Your wounds are still healing and you want to avoid infection. Your wounds should be kept dry and covered so they are not exposed to sunlight.
Do I have to stay in Thailand for the recommended time?. . .
Yes. You need to adhere to the minimum stay time in Phuket so that adequate post op time is allowed for healing, appointments and post op care. If you do not stay in Phuket for the minimum required time, you will void all post op care and concerns.
What if I want to travel and see other destinations in Thailand?. . .
Once you have had surgery, you are required to stay in the Phuket vicinity for the remainder of your recommended time in Thailand. Failing to stay in the area, you will void your guarantee with your surgeon and no responsibility will be taken should post operative complications arise. It is strongly recommended you enjoy Thailand prior to surgery if possible.
What language is spoken in Thailand?. . .
The official language spoken in Thailand is Thai. However all surgeons and staff speak English.
Can I smoke?. . .
No. you should stop smoking at least four weeks before surgery. Smoking promotes blood supply compromise and poor wound healing which can result in delays and further complications.
Risks and complications. . .
Post-operative complications are a common complication for any surgery, anywhere in the world. Your surgeon will advise you of the most common complications, including wound infection. It is important to do your research on your chosen procedure and educate yourself.
A guide to packing. . .
Less is best. Thailand is very warm. Tight, constricting clothing should be avoided. Pack light. Loose clothes are best after your surgery.
When are Group tours?. . .
Group tours are offered three times per year with our Australian Nurse, depending on demand. These dates can be found on the website. For further information please contact us.
